Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is hiring for a Warehouse Maintenance I in a distribution center in New Jersey. This entry-level role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and preventive maintenance of material handling equipment and facility systems.

Training and development are provided, with emphasis on safety and teamwork. Benefits begin after 60 days, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus paid time off and holidays.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in industrial maintenance.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience with material handling equipment.
• Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Experience with distribution center industrial equipment (forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, tuggers, carts).
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Basic computer skills with experience in a maintenance database (MP2, DataStream 7i, Maintenance Connection).
• English reading/writing comprehension required for safety and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure spare parts usage, inventory and work order actions tracked per policy.
• Assist with DC maintenance (refrigeration, plumbing, lighting, welding, docks, air systems, racking, tote washer, air spray painting).
• Maximize availability of all classes of batteries by managing charging cycles and rotation.
• Perform inspections and cleaning; conduct specific gravity checks; evaluate cable serviceability.
• Develop working knowledge of McLane Maintenance Connection database.
• Other duties may be assigned.

This position is an entry-level training and development position. The Maintenance I teammate troubleshoots, repairs, and perform preventive maintenance actions on material handling equipment and other facility support systems in the distribution center environment.

What you’ll do as a Warehouse Maintenance I:

• At least 18 years of age.

• At least 1 year of professional experience in industrial maintenance.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience with material handling equipment.

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
