Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Engineer I to join the Evanston hotel team. You will maintain facilities, respond to work orders, perform preventive maintenance, and help keep guest spaces safe, clean, and welcoming.

Strong knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC is essential, with pool/spa maintenance a plus. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years of maintenance experience, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of general hotel, apartment, or building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical systems, air conditioning, boilers, and general mechanical systems.
• Pool and spa maintenance experience is a plus.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Strong work ethic, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the resort’s facilities, equipment, and guest environments to high operational and service standards.
• Respond to work orders, assist with room and facility repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and help ensure the property remains safe, functional, and welcoming.
• Assist with preventive maintenance of hotel rooms and general maintenance tasks.
• Complete routine and minor repairs involving painting, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, boilers, and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot facility issues and escalate larger repairs when needed.
• Use hand tools, power tools, chemicals, and equipment safely.
• Maintain pools, spa-related systems, and other resort amenities as assigned.
• Keep work areas clean, organized and compliant with safety standards.
• Document completed work and communicate maintenance needs clearly to supervisors and team members.
• Follow all resort, brand, and workplace safety procedures.
• Support guest satisfaction by delivering quality work in a courteous and timely manner.

Here is what you will be doing each day:

As Engineer I, you will help maintain the resort’s facilities, equipment, and guest environments to high operational and service standards. You will respond to work orders, assist with room and facility repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and help ensure the property remains safe, functional, and welcoming for guests and team members. You will be working with our Engineering team to assist with preventive maintenance of the hotel rooms, general maintenance of the hotel, routine and major repairs and completion of work orders in accordance with our high-quality standards. You will be working with hand and power tools, chemicals and heavy machinery.

• Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Respond promptly to engineering and maintenance service requests.
• Complete routine and minor repairs involving painting, plumbing, electrical systems, air conditioning, boilers, and mechanical systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting facility issues and escalating larger repairs when needed.
• Use hand tools, power tools, chemicals, and equipment safely and appropriately.
• Help maintain pools, spa-related systems, and other resort amenities as assigned.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
