Job summary

Candlewood Suites in Fort Myers seeks a reliable Houseman/Maintenance Helper to support housekeeping and maintenance teams. The role requires basic maintenance knowledge, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to keeping the property clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and staff.

You will perform routine tasks, assist with guest requests, move furniture, and help maintain tools and storage areas. Hospitality experience is a plus but not required; we offer competitive hourly pay and benefits in

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, painting, or carpentry).
• Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Hospitality or property maintenance experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, light painting, replacing bulbs, unclogging drains, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support housekeeping by removing trash, delivering linens, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in public areas.
• Perform regular property walk-throughs to identify maintenance or cleanliness needs.
• Help set up, move, or arrange furniture and equipment as needed.
• Respond promptly to guest or staff requests with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in clean, organized condition.
• Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or supply shortages to supervisors.
