Job summary

JBS operates a two-shift beef processing facility and distribution center in Cactus, Texas. This maintenance mechanic role focuses on safety, preventative maintenance, and timely execution of tasks to support production and quality goals.

Applicant will assist other maintenance areas, respond to major issues, and document maintenance activities as required by safety and food safety policies across a large-scale operation.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance procedures on all equipment assigned by maintenance supervisors/lead hand.
• Ensures all maintenance functions are performed safely and in an acceptable method.
• Assist other areas of the plant when major problems occur and support day-to-day maintenance operations.

Functional Requirements

• Completes all assigned tasks scheduled and unscheduled work as directed by supervisor
• Assist in the day to day operations of the maintenance department. Includes but is not limited to the assistance of all maintenance areas of the plant, insuring that all assigned areas of the maintenance department areas are being monitored and documented as required by safety, food safety, company policy, & procedures

The Cactus operation is a two-shift, beef processing facility and distribution center located in the panhandle of Texas. Employs a total of 3,023 team members.

Cactus is a key beef export plant, exporting approximately 23% of production to different countries including Japan, Mexico and Chile. The facility processes more than one million head of cattle per year.
