Job summary

JBS Foods in Cactus, Texas, operates as a two-shift beef processing facility and distribution center. Qualifications

• Experience maintaining plant equipment in a food processing environment.
• Familiarity with safety and food safety policies.
• Ability to work across maintenance areas and document activities as required by safety policies.

Responsibilities

• This position ensures all aspects of the maintenance mechanic functions are performed in a safety and acceptable method.
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures on all equipment that is assigned by the maintenance supervisors/lead hand.
• Assist other areas of the plant when major problems occur

Functional Requirements

• Completes all assigned tasks scheduled and unscheduled work as directed by supervisor
• Assist in the day to day operations of the maintenance department. Includes but is not limited to the assistance of all maintenance areas of the plant, insuring that all assigned areas of the maintenance department areas are being monitored and documented as required by safety, food safety, company policy, & procedures

The Cactus operation is a two-shift, beef processing facility and distribution center located in the panhandle of Texas. Employs a total of 3,023 team members.

Cactus is a key beef export plant, exporting approximately 23% of production to different countries including Japan, Mexico and Chile. The facility processes more than one million head of cattle per year.
