Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Bagdad, Arizona is seeking a maintenance technician to safely maintain and repair heavy equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and graders.

You will work with Journeyman Mechanics, perform preventative maintenance, complete work orders, and document activities. A high school diploma or GED and strong English communication are required. The role offers subsidized housing, a comprehensive benefits package, and a 21.00–27.00 per hour wage.

Qualifications

• Must understand and apply verbal and written work and safety instructions in English.
• Able to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures and safety standards.
• Must complete required training and pass a written assessment as part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as haul trucks, water trucks, and dozers.
• Assist Journeyman Mechanics with maintenance on transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, and torque converters.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities on heavy equipment.
• Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Perform housekeeping duties and area checks.
• May operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Will Do

• Safely assist with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders.
• Assist Journeyman Mechanics with maintenance activities on transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives and other heavy equipment systems or maintenance activities
• Assists with and performs preventative maintenance activities on heavy equipment
• Completes Work Orders and other maintenance documentation
• Troubleshoot equipment problems
• Performs housekeeping duties and work area checks
• May operate equipment such as: forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment
• Performs other duties as required

• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $21.00 - $27.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
