Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Irvine, CA is seeking a Maintenance Helper to keep manufacturing support equipment in good working order, enabling smooth operations in a medical device environment.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on microscopes and benches, minor repairs to tools, and documenting tasks in Maximo, with adherence to safety and SOPs. The role follows a 5:30am–2pm weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English.
• Ability to use computer applications to track and update work order status.
• Adhere to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines in clean room medical device manufacturing.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision by following preventive maintenance instructions.
• Review, follow and perform job functions in compliance with established work instructions and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on chairs and microscopes and sanitize work benches and other large surfaces during shutdowns.
• Perform minor repairs to manufacturing tools such as tweezers, scissors and probes.
• Document maintenance tasks, track labor hours and spare parts data in asset lifecycle system (e.g., Maximo).
• Re-configure racks to accommodate production volume shifts based on work orders to limit the number of work orders in process.
• Demonstrate regular attendance and work a full 8 hour or longer shift.
• Assist with general housekeeping and other duties as assigned by leadership.

The Maintenance Helper ensures the working condition of manufacturing support equipment to support smooth and continuous operations.

The standard hours for this role are Monday-Friday 5:30am-2pm.

How you'll make an impact:

• Perform preventive maintenance on chairs and microscopes, as well as making repairs to microscopes; also perform preventive maintenance and sanitization of work benches and other large surfaces during shutdowns.
• Perform minor repairs to manufacturing tools, such as tweezers, scissors and probes.
• Document maintenance tasks, track labor hours and spare parts data in asset lifecycle system (e.g., Maximo).
• Re-configure racks to accommodate production volume shifts based on work orders to limit the number of work orders in process.
• On time arrival to work, regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 8 hour or longer work period.
• Other incidental duties: General work area housekeeping, other duties as assigned by leadership.
