Qualifications

  • Inspect and troubleshoot for malfunctions; replace parts as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and complete work orders promptly.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and cooperate with supervisors.

Job Details

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.

Pay Range
  • $22.35 - $31.95 (pay based on experience) + $2 attendance bonus
  • $3 shift differential for B shift.
Hours
  • Rotating 12 hr shift Schedules 2-2-3
  • 1st Shift: 5:30 am - 5:30 pm or upon completion of assigned work
  • B Shift: 5:30 pm - 5:30 am or upon completion of assigned work
SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing troubleshooting, repairs and provide technical support for all phases of operations, including preventative maintenance functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up equipment and machines for optimal performance throughout the production day
  • Adjust production machines and related equipment, according to maintenance schedule, manufacturer's service manuals and production tolerances
  • Inspect machines and troubleshoot to detect potential malfunctions
  • Replace repaired parts or install new parts to restore machine to operating condition
  • Lubricate grease fittings and moving parts of machine and other preventive maintenance requirements as directed by supervisors
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance and work orders in a timely manner
  • Work within safety guidelines at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certification: Certifications in any technical field or techniques is a plus.
  • Through knowledge of troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail and ability to solve practical problems
  • Good safety and attendance record along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in the area of AC DC circuits industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience in electrical safety and lock out tag out processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge in the theory and application of electronic devices such as industrial semi-conductors solid state drives and industrial control systems.
  • Experience in the operation of PLC systems and control and data collection instrumentation and transducers.
  • Working knowledge and skills in tools and components used in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems such as bearings gears clutches belts and seals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems.
  • Ability to repair pumps and fluid control systems.
  • Other Preferred Skills:
  • Possession of one or more of the skills is a plus - Basic Microcomputer skills necessary to understand the operation and interfacing characteristics of microprocessors; experience in PLC operation to include basic system configuration and hardware relay equivalent instructions timers’ counters data manipulation data communications and advanced programming commands as well as interfacing troubleshooting and application and program development.
  • Demonstrated skills or training in electronic motor drive technologies including servo- motors encoders tachometers electronic and mechanical brakes and clutches closed loop systems DC servo AC variable frequency AC servo and stepper systems.
  • Ability to use test equipment including but not limited to multimeter, megger, vibration analysis, infrared scanners, and sonic testers.
Education and/or Experience
  • Associates degree in Mechanics/Automotive or Electrical Technology preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Facility Maintenance and/or Automotive Mechanic
  • Some training in electrical principals and troubleshooting preferred.
Communication Skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
Other Skills
  • Computer skills. General knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge or training preferred.
Physical Requirements / Environment
  • Stand/Walk: Continuously (at least 8 hours a day)
  • Lift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs.), occasionally (up to 35-50 lbs.)
  • Grasp: Frequently (3-4 hours a day)
  • Occasionally (1-3 hours a day); bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder, crouch, kneel, push/pull
  • Continuously working around moving machinery, both inside and out with changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working on a ladder at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor
