Job summary

Perlick in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a skilled technician to rig, move and install machines and equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and support repair work on a variety of machinery. Experience with overhead cranes and material handling equipment is preferred.

The role requires a vocational or high school diploma and 3–4 years of hands-on experience with shop mathematics, mechanical drawing, and general repair.

Qualifications

• Requires a vocational or high school graduate with courses in mechanical drawing, shop mathematics, and shop practices.
• Three to four years of experience required.
• Knowledge of fundamentals as applied in maintenance and general repair.

Responsibilities

• Rig, move and install machines and equipment such as lathes, mills, drills, grinders, presses, etc.
• Prepare foundations, level and align machines.
• Assist on large repair work and dismantle/reassemble machines undergoing repair or overhaul.
• Service and maintain overhead cranes and hoists, power trucks and material handling equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as oiling and lubricating machinery and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position general works 2nd shift hours (3:15pm - 11:45pm) and is eligible for a $1.00 shift differential! At times, maintenance schedules may be adjusted to meet the needs of the facility, but the home shift will be as described.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Perform all assigned work to rig, move and install machines and equipment such as engine and turret lathes, small boring mills, milling machines, radial drills, grinders, punch presses, etc.
• Prepare foundations, secure, level and align machines properly.
• Assist on large and more involved repair work and dismantle and reassemble machines undergoing repair or overhaul.
• Service and maintain overhead cranes and hoists, power trucks and miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance functions such as oiling and lubricating of machinery and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
