Silvi Materials is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Foreman at our Belle Mead, NJ site near Princeton. Starting shifts and a competitive pay range reflect experience in quarry maintenance and supervision of a 3–4 person crew.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar with transferable skills to quarry equipment.
• Welding experience required (MIG, stick, overhead).
• Technical school education in welding/electrical/maintenance preferred.
• Quarry/mining experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; ability to read maintenance manuals and schematics.
• Understanding safety regulations (OSHA/MSHA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan preventative maintenance, plant projects and scheduled shutdowns with maintenance manager.
• Lead/schedule a crew of 3–4 mechanics for daily plant maintenance.
• Obtain parts lists and ensure progress on all projects.
• Perform skilled maintenance on quarry equipment (crusher, conveyors, electrical panels).
• Inspect, diagnose faults, and restore equipment to operating condition.
• Analyze failures for root cause and suggest improvements.
• Conduct daily rounds and monitor equipment operation.
• Follow PM schedules and document work.
• Assist with maintenance on compressors, generators, pumps, and hydraulics.
• Lubricate and service equipment; maintain a clean, safe work area.

Title of Position Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Foreman

Location Belle Mead, NJ (Near Princeton, NJ) (445 am start time- 5 pm)

Pay Range $42.21 - $49.28 (this is based on previous or relevant quarry/maintenance mechanic + foreman experience)

At Gibraltar Rock, our rock mine, the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Foreman completes numerous tasks involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of production and production-related equipment. They demonstrate initiative, responsibility, have good interpersonal skills and are flexible/adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid business environment. Additionally, we encourage Maintenance Mechanics to participate in company-paid continuing education to stay abreast of both the technical knowledge related to their profession and the changes related to safety compliance. Position Essential Functions Responsibilities

• Plans preventative maintenance, plant projects and scheduled shutdowns with maintenance manager


• Leads/schedules a crew of 3-4 mechanics for daily plant maintenance


• Responsible for getting parts list to manager to keep progress on all projects/maintenance


• Performs skilled maintenance on rock quarry equipment such as but not limited to the rock crusher, conveyor belts, electrical panels and similar equipment.


• Inspects and determines the nature of difficulties and malfunctioning and takes necessary action to restore equipment to good operating order.


• Evaluate equipment failures for root cause, communicate findings, make suggestions for equipment improvements, and be able to install modifications as directed.


• Performs daily rounds checklist on operating equipment observing machine in operation and listening to sounds to detect unusual operation.


• Follow preventative maintenance schedules and procedures, recording all pertinent information.


• Assist with maintenance and repairs on compressors, generators, fans and motors, pumps, gearboxes mixers, blowers, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and maintenance equipment.


• Lubricating, cleaning and servicing equipment.


• Keeps work area clean and in a safe condition.


• Obtains, stores, records, safeguards and properly uses equipment, materials and supplies.


• Completes work assignments in the allotted time frame.

Qualifications

• At least 5 year’s of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic at a similar position or a position with transferable skills to quarry equipment.


• Valid Driver's License.


• Education from a technical school in a related field preferred (welding, electrical, maintenance etc.)


• Welding experience required, particularly in mig, stick, and overhead.


• Quarry/mining experience a plus but not required.


• Gyratory Crusher experience a plus but not required.


• Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.


• Knowledge of the common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctioning on different types of motors/machinery.


• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manual.


• Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, as they apply to the operation a plus but not required.


• Must possess an even temperament to work under pressure to prevent costly delays in production that can result from machinery breakdown


• Must have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary.


• Ability to work independently.


• Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership to complete assignments/projects through to completion.


• Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.

Physical Requirements
