SUMMARY This position reports to the Associate Director of Maintenance for the maintenance, repair and regulatory compliance of District buildings and grounds. The position is responsible for ensuring that students, staff and the community have facilities that are safe and well maintained.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintains and services District facilities (buildings and sites) to a standard that supports the educational program and business continuance.
- Maintains building and grounds appearances to District standards.
- Ensures District facilities are compliant with all state and local laws, regulations, code requirements, and Labor & Industries safety standards.
- Assists in the hiring, training, and supervision of maintenance trades.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the management of maintenance work.
- Responsible for varying facilities programs - including, but not limited to, Integrated Pest Management and maintenance trades training.
- Manages supplies, equipment and services necessary to maintain and repair District facilities and grounds
- Works with the Risk, Health and Safety Manager, as necessary, to resolve safety, indoor air quality and other environmental issues.
- Coordinates training, monitors and implements short-term and long-term facility maintenance plans and metrics.
- Responsible to maintain an inspection schedule of varying systems and conduct and/or coordinate required and/or scheduled inspections.
- Establish and maintain schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services; identify resources needed; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
- Maintains and oversees preventive maintenance of building and site systems in order to prolong their useful lifecycles.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with the community.
- Coordinates with the Human Resources Department for the administration of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Coordinates with the Construction, Resource Conservation, other operational departments and schools.
- Maintains necessary service and repair history files.
- Works with others to maintain accurate files and as-built documentation for any changes made by maintenance
- Participate in the preparation of maintenance budgets; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures; prepare cost estimates.
- Manages maintenance, repair and other projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within assigned budgets
- Attends meetings to receive and/or convey information.
- Models appropriate behavior for staff and the public.
- Shares off-hour on-call responsibilities with other Support Services' staff.
- Responsible for periodic AHERA surveillance and other regulatory/code required
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- The position requires a professional knowledge in a range of subjects related to the position. The position requires the ability to demonstrate a strong knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to school facility maintenance and repair.
- Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Office, database software, and accounting systems.

DUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of increasing responsibilities in facilities and maintenance.
