Job summary

Infrastructure Precast, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Fabrication Technician at its Beaver Dam, KY location. The role focuses on welding and fabrication of production support parts and maintaining in-house fabricated goods to support continuous operations.

You will cut, grind, and weld per drawings, manage inventory, and ensure readiness of materials for fabrication while maintaining records and complying with safety standards. This is a hands-on, team-oriented position with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (technical schooling preferred).
• Prior certifications in GTAW/SMAW welding (preferred).
• Welding and maintenance experience in fabrication/machine shop environment (preferred).
• Strong problemsolving and mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or able to obtain).
• Experience in precast concrete or construction materials industry (preferred).
• Experience with cranes, forklifts, or heavy industrial equipment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Cut, grind, and weld parts per drawings or instructions.
• Maintain inventory of fabricated materials for operations.
• Follow up on part quality and correct deficiencies after parts enter production.
• Report materials needed for fabrication to Maintenance Lead/Plant Engineer.
• Support the maintenance team when needed.
• Become certified through an ICAST approved inspector per ASTM and AWS specs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Communicate equipment status and repair needs to supervisors and operations staff.
• Follow all safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations.
• Keep tools, shop, and work areas clean and organized using 5S.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Maintenance Fabrication Technician will be scheduled 6 AM-4:30 PM and primarily responsible for welding and fabrication of specified production supporting consumable. The large balance of your time will be to maintain in-house fabricated goods at inventory levels sufficient to maintain operations.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Cut, grind, and weld parts per drawing/sketches provided or other direction.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory of fabricated materials for operations.
• Responsible for following up with operations regarding the quality of fabricated parts and correcting any deficiencies once parts have entered production.
• Responsible for ensuring materials needed for continued fabrication work is reported to the Maintenance Lead/Plant Engineer.
• Support the maintenance team when needed.
• Will be required to become certified through an ICAST approved inspector and in accordance with ASTM and AWS specifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency or field repairs as needed
• Communicate equipment status and repair needs to supervisors and operations staff
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations

Working conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Industrial plant setting with exposure to concrete, dust, and machinery.
• Candidates should be able to work in various environments.
• Standing for long periods of time with frequent movement through the plant.
• Exposure to noise, chemicals, or machinery, as applicable for the work being performed.
• Use of PPE (i.e. gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and/or ear protection).
• Ability to lift heavy objects on a regular basis, if required.
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks, as appropriate.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to work various work shifts and overtime, as required to meet project deadlines.
• Comfortable working around heavy machinery and industrial environments.
