Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Lenexa, KS seeks a Maintenance Equipment Supervisor to lead a team responsible for equipment availability, reliability, and compliance with USDA and EU GMP standards across production and testing operations.

You will oversee installation, diagnostics, preventive and predictive maintenance, safety training, and contractor management to minimize downtime and optimize asset stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Education requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of managerial/supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with regulatory standards (USDA, GMP) is a plus.

Maintenance Equipment Supervisor

Location: Lenexa, KS

Job Summary

Lead a team of maintenance and calibration technicians to ensure equipment availability, reliability, and compliance with USDA and EU GMP Standards across production and testing operations. Oversee installation, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of critical machinery to optimize performance, minimize downtime, and foster safety and asset stewardship.

Responsibilities
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise and mentor maintenance and calibration technicians, guiding daily activities and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Prioritize and coordinate maintenance to ensure timely completion and minimal production disruption; conduct inspections, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Implement a comprehensive program for all critical site equipment—task assignment, documentation, and adherence to schedules.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records; coordinate with regulatory affairs and quality assurance for audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Safety: Promote a safety culture, enforce SOPs, conduct training, toolbox talks, and participate in HSE CAPAs.
  • Training: Oversee the site’s Maintenance Training program, assess skill gaps, and manage simulation equipment and learning labs.
  • Contractor Management: Identify, select, schedule, and monitor on‑site contractors, reviewing documentation and fees.
  • Vehicle Management: Oversee mobile equipment (trucks, golf carts) acquisition, maintenance, insurance, and registration.
  • Personnel Development: Ensure training is provided and documented for all maintenance team members.
  • Performance Accountability: Monitor team performance, conduct reviews, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track KPIs such as equipment uptime, backlog, and productivity; generate reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process optimizations in maintenance function.

Technical / Functional Competencies
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards (USDA, GMP Guidelines).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Technical proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and utility systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and other maintenance software.
  • Effective time management and prioritization in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Certification in maintenance management (e.g., CMRP) or trade certifications (HVAC, electrical) is a plus.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology certificate, or related field preferred.

Work Experience: 1–3 years managerial/supervisory experience in a manufacturing operation.

Physical Requirements

Walk, climb, use hands, stand, and walk to various job sites; climb ladders and stairs frequently. Requires close vision and periodic lifting up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

Requires indoor and outdoor work, exposure to weather, chemicals, and occasional cleaning in lab or manufacturing environments with required PPE.
