Job summary

IntePros is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Technician in Tempe, AZ to maintain plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment for a medical device/manufacturing client. You will troubleshoot, repair, and support plant facilities, applying safety rules and ISO 9000/GMP knowledge.

The role requires reading schematics, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and assisting with installation and upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade technical skills through on-site or off-site trainings.
• Perform oil changes on machine gear boxes and dispose of used oil per procedure.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
• Identify and resolve potential safety hazards and perform simple troubleshooting.
• Assist with installing/moving office furniture and equipment as directed.

IntePros is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineering Technician for one of our medical device/manufacturing clients in Tempe, AZ. The Maintenance Engineering Technician provides maintenance of plastic injection molding (PIM) machines and auxiliary equipment. Completes troubleshooting and repair of real property equipment, fixtures, alarm systems and assists with fabrication and installation of support requirements for new and changing projects. Performs typical maintenance tasks to support production and the plant-wide facility.

Maintenance Engineering Technician Responsibilities

• Reference machine operation and maintenance manuals to perform scheduled and unscheduled periodic maintenance and/or cleaning of equipment and machines.
• Identify problems by reading schematics/prints, where available, and make necessary repairs on the equipment or system to ensure safe operation of the machine or system.
• Work with training department to train new mechanics on machine repair, setup and related plant procedures.
• Upgrade technical skills by various educational workshops, on-site or off-site trainings supported by WEST.
• Perform necessary oil changes on machine gear boxes and dispose of used oil per established procedure.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Identify and resolve potential safety hazards. Perform simple troubleshooting for blown fuses, circuit breakers, pressure leaks, etc.
• Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on the building and/or grounds as required. Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair real property utility systems and components. Services real property equipment, fixtures, and appliances.
• Assist with installing and moving office furniture, modules, supplies, and/or appliances as directed.
• Perform screw cleans, sweating copper, cut and lay PVC pipes.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste within the production environment. Advises management on significant maintenance trends affecting the facility and proposals for improvement.
• All interactions, work flow, productivity levels, and quality standards are implemented with a “Customer Service” approach to both internal and external customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
