Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical associates degree preferred.
  • 9 years of experience or 3 years as Principal Maintenance Technician.

Your role

As a member of the Maintenance Engineer team you will play a key role in providing technical and solving support by maintaining and repairing automated production equipment. You will be a key member of team that reduces equipment downtime, maintains all production molds, and ensure production schedules are met. All of our maintenance engineer technicians are play a critical role in the plant by performing preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment availability.

What you’ll be doing
  • Performs maintenance on automated production machinery to reduce equipment downtime and meet production schedules.
  • Performs preventive and predictive maintenance as required to ensure equipment availability.
  • Focus on process and equipment improvement and innovation.
  • Solid grasp of regulatory and documentation procedures for initiating and fully implementing new manufacturing processes and equipment, or modification to those already in use with minimum supervision.
  • Works closely with production, quality, engineering, drafting, purchasing and suppliers to provide support for plant operations and capital projects.
  • Investigate root cause technical issues and work alone or in a team to mitigate the issues.
  • Seek out opportunities for improvement for the company, the plant, co-workers, and his/herself. Actively engages and empowers others while continuing to improve their own skills. While having a broad technical knowledge, it’s not unusual for a MMT to have specialized skills.
  • Lead contractors with little engineering support on projects.
  • Train new Maintenance Technicians in all aspects of their job. They will also help develop them in project management skills.
  • Self-educate and participate in implementing innovative maintenance/manufacturing practices.
  • Drives innovation and develop sophisticated solutions for engineering design challenges.
  • Perform engineering functions regularly to support plant goals.
  • Position reports to a Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Partner with engineering to develop solutions for new equipment/processes.
  • Specify/develop control architecture for new equipment.
  • Design/layout control solutions specific to each project need.
  • Apply new technology to drive innovation.
  • Direct support personnel/contractors in support of project.
  • Works in a safe manner and is trained in all appropriate plant safety programs.
  • Performs equipment relocations, crating or uncrating of parts, mechanical adjustments and alignments, identifying and ordering of spare parts, documenting all work, clean-up before leaving job, attending relevant training and meetings.
  • Participates in projects and upgrades.
  • Understanding of technical drawings and schematics.
  • Lead a basic project budget.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Lead a technical team to implement a new process.
  • Electrical: Trouble shoots repairs and works with Robots.
  • Electrical: Solve, modify, or write new software using programmable logic controllers (PLC) systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc).
  • Electrical: Implement new PLC controllers and software to improve reliability, quality, and throughput.
  • Electrical: Component level repair of obsolete control components.
  • Electrical: Tackle/repair vision systems, photoeye sensors, limit switches, proximity switches, temperature controllers, variable speed drives, motors, servos, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, ultrasonic and RF plastic welders, leak detection systems, and electrical systems up to 480V, 3phase.
  • Machine shop personnel: Knowledge of machining techniques/processes including manual milling, turning, grinding, welding, CNC machine setup, programming, and operation. Solid understanding of all Machine Shop equipment.
  • Machinists: CNC machine setup, programming, and operation.
  • Mold shop personnel: Knowledge of mold repair, teardown, assembly, and cleaning. Solid understanding of all Mold Shop equipment and mold maintenance methods. Able to diagnose root cause of molding defects with sample molded parts and repair defects.
  • Mold shop personnel: Systematic molder graduate, Molded part design graduate, Master molder 1 graduate.
  • Forklift maintenance personnel: Knowledge of safe standard methodologies for PIT operation and repair. Understanding of battery usage and handling procedures. Sophisticated understanding of Raymold and Crown repair methods.
  • Mechanical: Fabrication experience (welding, basic machine shop activities).
  • Mechanical: Begin to develop multi-functional expertise (electrical/controls skills).
What you’ll bring
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Technical Associates degree (2 year) preferred
  • Minimum 9 years of applicable experience/proven skill required, or 3 years as a Principal Maintenance Technician
  • Must have experience with basic hand too
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic diagrams, knowledge of hydraulics preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Work optimally under stressful conditions
  • Work with limited supervision
  • Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $76,000 - $95,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
