Baxter Hotel Group Inc. is opening two Hilton properties, Tru and Home2 Suites, in downtown San Diego. You will be on the opening team responsible for keeping systems running, rooms in top condition, and spaces safe. The role offers growth across Baxter's portfolio and exposure to multiple properties.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hotel, apartment, or commercial building maintenance experience.
• Trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, drywall and painting skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladders.
• CPO certification a plus; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and systems.
• Repair guest rooms, including lighting, furniture, TVs, and in-suite appliances.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC and building systems.
• Maintain exterior areas and assist with renovations and pre-opening punch lists.

Position Summary:

What You Will Do:

• Perform routine repairs on all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, and plumbing
• Complete building repairs, including drywall patching, painting, carpentry, and touch-ups
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair guest room items, including lighting, furniture, TVs, locks, and in-suite kitchen appliances
• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including in-room units and building equipment
• Assist with renovations, deep cleaning projects, and preventative maintenance initiatives
• Service and troubleshoot breakfast and bar kitchen equipment, including ice machines, dishwashers, and refrigeration
• Maintain exterior appearance including sidewalks, parking areas, landscaping, signing and lighting
• Respond quick to guest and team requests and perform trouble shooting with minimal supervision
• Have a good working knowledge of hotel life safety systems (fire panel, emergency generator, transfer switch, fire pumps, sprinkler system.
• Upkeep pool, fitness center and rooftop bar area
• Support pre-opening punch lists and work with contractors and vendors
• Document all work performed
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements:

• 2+ years of hotel, apartment, or commercial building maintenance experience (pre-opening or Hilton brand experience a plus)
• Trade school and/or apprenticeship preferred
• Intermediate to advanced skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, drywall, and painting
• Experience in electrical diagnosis and repairs preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as a team
• Ability to lift, push pull up to 50 lbs
• Ability to walk constantly, climb stairs & ladders while working in tight spaces and uneven surfaces throughout shift
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification a plus
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays required
