Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Blytheville, AR to support CM2 cold rolling and galvanizing line operations. You will design, troubleshoot, and optimize mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and manage capital projects from scope through commissioning.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 5+ years in a sheet steel environment, CAD proficiency, and a track record of implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve reliability and coating

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from accredited program.
Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in a sheet steel manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience maintaining and supporting equipment in a steel mill or heavy industrial setting.
Experience with CAD software and reading technical print/drawings.
Proven ability to monitor and develop preventive and predictive maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

Provide support to all teams and technical support for maintenance and operations.
Design and troubleshoot mechanical components and systems.
Design and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and fluid power systems.
Perform mechanical load ratings and capital project management, including expenses and CEAs.
Assist with setup of preventative and predictive maintenance programs using engineering principles.
Support CM2 Cold Rolling operations and galvanizing line furnace and coating equipment.
Monitor furnace temperatures, combustion/heating systems, and zinc pot performance.
Lead or support planned preventative maintenance, calibration, and compliance testing.
Manage capital projects from scope through commissioning and collaborate with other departments.
