Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. in Lakeland, Florida, is seeking an entry level maintenance engineer to support the maintenance team in keeping the plant running safely and efficiently.

This full-time role involves assisting with planned and unplanned maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure product quality and compliance with safety standards. The position requires basic hands-on skills, 6 months+ experience in a related role, and an Associate Degree or equivalent training in electronics or electrical

Qualifications

• 6 months or more experience as Production Operator or Technician or formal training/experience.
• Experience in HVAC, Welding, Electronics, Electrical repairs, Industrial Equipment installations, alignment, start-up repairs.
• Associate Degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology or equivalent training/work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing preventive maintenance tasks.
• Assist in scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Assist in responding to and correcting equipment stoppages and breakdowns; repair/replace worn parts.
• Operate machine shop equipment and fabricate required parts as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and comply with company policies.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervision.

Bringing Home the Dough

Entry level maintenance engineer position. Assists maintenance engineer’s in performing scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and installation tasks on the physical plant, equipment and machinery, according to standards. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

• Assists in performing assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
• Assists in performing scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Assists in responding to and correcting equipment stoppage/mechanical breakdown. Troubleshoots (when necessary). Repairs/replaces worn/defective parts, motors, control devices, etc.
• Assists in operating machine shop equipment and makes required parts when necessary.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
• Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervision.
  

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

6 months or more experience as Production Operator or Technician and/or formal training or experience. Experience in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning; Welding, Electronics, Electrical repairs, Industrial Equipment installations, alignment, start-up repairs, etc.

Associate Degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology and/or equivalent formal training and work experience.

Salary Range- 22.40

We offer a competitive salary and an excellent total rewards package. Salary of $22.40 per hour.
