Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our properties. SHG is a hospitality-driven company focused on service, inclusivity, and career growth, offering a robust benefits package and opportunities for development.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will oversee grounds, public areas, and guest rooms; perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; and respond to work orders promptly to ensure guest comfort

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in a hotel maintenance position preferred.
• One year of college or trade school in mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms.
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
• Paints, replaces electrical accessories, maintains HVAC.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner.
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner.
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
• Excellent time management skills
