JOB DESCRIPTION KRIV/KTXH

FOX 26, a FOX-owned and operated duopoly in Houston, Texas (DMA 6), is seeking a full-time, customer service-focused and team-oriented Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining video, audio, and other television broadcast and non-broadcast equipment. This includes data networks (including SMPTE ST 2110 standards), production control switchers, audio mixers, automation systems, routing switchers, server-based record and play-out systems, non-linear editors, encoders, decoders and multiplexers, newsroom computer systems, media streaming systems, and RF transmission equipment.

Responsibilities

Qualifications and Requirements

• Associate degree with an emphasis in Engineering or IT preferred, or a minimum of four (4) years of equivalent industry experience.


• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and maintain focus for extended periods.


• Strong working knowledge of broadcast and network systems; experience with RF and fiber optic workflows preferred.


• Ability to work in a proactive environment and anticipate operational needs.


• Self-starter who works effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.


• Flexible, detail-oriented, organized, and an effective communicator.


• Prior experience in television or radio broadcast engineering or similar technical disciplines preferred.


• Ability to climb ladders up to 20 feet, lift up to 40 pounds, and work in confined spaces.


• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $38.00-42.00 per hour.
