Job summary

IDF in Missouri seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician to maintain building and plant electrical systems, troubleshoot, and support production.

You will perform preventative maintenance, read schematics, work with VFDs and high/low voltage systems, and follow strict safety protocols.

This role requires teamwork with maintenance and production staff, willingness to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, nights, and climb stairs.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years in industrial maintenance as an electrician or an electrical certificate/degree.
• Experience with relays, proximity switches, level and temperature controls.
• Familiarity with VFDs and field controls.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics; safety procedures and PPE.
• Capable of working with high, low voltage and complex electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair building, mechanical and electrical problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on plant electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair motor starter and switching circuits.
• Read manuals and schematics; understand chemical handling procedures.
• Safely rebuild electrical equipment and coordinate with parts room.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE; work with limited supervision.

Want to join a team where you can demonstrate your leadership and help drive new growth?Job Summary: This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the building and plant production equipment including electrical control equipment as well as plant electrical systems supporting production and plant processes.Duties and Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and repair all building , mechanical and electrical problems.Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on plant electrical equipment.Must be able to troubleshoot and repair basic motor starter and switching circuits.Must be proficient at use of hand tools, all electrical meters and testing equipment and electrical tools.Must be able to read and understand all manuals and schematics on machinery and ask questions if in doubt.Must be able to understand the use of each chemical used at IDF for production, ingredient and cleaning. This includes how to properly mix chemicals and what chemicals not to use together, plus the proper handling procedures and protective gear that must be worn during the used of the chemicals.Must be able to work with very little supervision.Must be able to safely rebuild electrical equipment as needed.Must be able to work with the parts room and purchasing personnel to assure parts required for jobs assignments are in stock.Strictly follows all safety procedures and uses all required personal protective equipment.Management retains the discretion to modify or change these duties at any time.Must be willing and able to learn complex mechanical and electrical systems within the plant to allow proper troubleshooting and repair functionsRequired Qualifications:Must have minimum of two years verifiable experience in industrial maintenance as an electrician or an accredited certificate or degree in an electrical discipline.Past verifiable experience with electrical and control systems.Past verifiable experience working with relays, proximity switches, level controls and temperature controls.Must have verifiable experience working with VFD equipment as well as related field controls.Must have basic working knowledge of instrumentation involving low voltage and PID/control loops.Must have experience working with AC, DC, high voltage (480VAC) and low voltage (12V – 24V) applications.Must have experience working with variable speed drives including servo, AC and DC.Must be capable of performing mathematical calculations required in calibration and programming applications.Must have knowledge of shop electrical test equipment; i.e. VOM, AMP Meter, Megger etc.Must be organized and able to work in a precise and controlled manner.Must be able to lift in excess of 25 pounds.Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to extreme heights.Requires initiative and self-motivation.Must work well with maintenance and production personnel.Must have the ability to think and draw natural conclusions.Must have the ability to make correct decisions at the appropriate time.Must have the ability to learn all the functions and processes of the facility.Is supportive of company objectives, policies and procedures.Must have the ability to adapt to changing situations.Has the ability to follow directions as well as give directions.Has an excellent work record.Is willing to learn any and all operations of maintenance not familiar with.Must be able to work independently and as part of a Team.Must be willing to work a twelve-hour shift, weekends and nights.Must be able to work effectively in both warm and cold environments.Taking care of business starts with taking care of our associates!EEO Employer: M/F/Vets/Disabled
