Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of 3-phase power, motor controls, and safety circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repair of electrical issues in power distribution, control circuits, and industrial machinery.
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs and I/O devices; interface with HMI systems.
  • Assist in planning and executing electrical projects, installations, and retrofits.

## Maintenance Electrical SpecialistApplylocations: Louisville, KYtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR110939UW Interco, LLC**Work Hours: 1st Shift Mon- Thurs 4am - 2:30pm**### **Position Summary**The Maintenance Electrical Specialist is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of electrical systems and controls in an industrial environment. This role focuses on hands-on work with PLCs, motor controls, and electrical infrastructure, as well as supporting electrical project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in diagnostics, programming, and system upgrades, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and equipment reliability. **Responsibilities**** Troubleshooting & Repair**o Diagnose and repair electrical issues in power distribution systems (480V/240V/120V), control circuits, and industrial machinery.o Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motors, motor starters, relays, contactors, and other control components.o Use test equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, oscilloscopes) to identify faults and verify repairs.**PLC & Automation Support**o Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and associated I/O devices.o Interface with HMI systems and support integration of sensors, actuators, and drives.o Load/download programs and perform system backups and documentation.**Project Work**o Assist in planning and executing electrical projects, including equipment upgrades, installations, and retrofits.o Interpret and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.o Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement improvements and ensure code compliance.**Preventive & Predictive Maintenance**o Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.o Identify opportunities for system upgrades or reliability improvements.**Documentation & Compliance**o Maintain accurate records of work performed, changes made, and parts used.o Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), safety standards, and company policies.**Personal Attributes and Experience**· Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.· Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.· Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams.· Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.· Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including 3-phase power, motor controls, and safety circuits.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.· Experience with VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus) preferred.· Familiarity with CMMS systems for work order tracking preferred.· Basic project management or coordination experience is a plus.**Work Environment**Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; risk of radiation and vibration.
