Job summary

Renwick Nursing & Rehab in Joliet, IL seeks a Maintenance Director to lead the Maintenance, Laundry, and Housekeeping departments. This role ensures clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities and coordinates life safety and inspections.

You will recruit and schedule staff, supervise purchasing of supplies, conduct drills, and be on-call 24/7 for emergencies. A high school diploma and basic trade knowledge are preferred; OSHA/IDPH familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Some management training is preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA and IDPH regulations related to housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and hire personnel to maintain proper staffing levels.
• Oversee the scheduling of staff to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
• Supervise purchasing, storage, and distribution of housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry supplies.
• Conduct fire, disaster, and evacuation drills for all shifts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administrator.
• Be on-call 24/7 to handle facility emergencies and urgent repairs.
• Schedule life safety inspections, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and generators.

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Director to oversee the planning, organization, staffing, and coordination of the Maintenance, Laundry, and Housekeeping departments. This role ensures that the facility remains clean, safe, and well-maintained while guaranteeing laundry services for both resident clothing and facility linens.

Maintenance Director Requirements:

• High school diploma preferred
• Some business and personnel management training is preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, heating, and air-conditioning (Licensure or certification in these areas is a plus)
• Knowledge of OSHA and IDPH regulations related to housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance
• Strong organizational and leadership skills

As a Maintenance Director, you will:

• Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of housekeeping, laundry, dietary, HVAC, and facility equipment
