Job summary

Brookdale Medi Park West Assisted & Independent Living community is hiring a Maintenance Director (Finance) to lead facilities operations, budgeting, and safety programs. This role oversees maintenance, housekeeping, and possibly laundry staff, coordinating vendors and ensuring compliance with building codes.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree with 3–5 years related experience. A valid Texas driver’s license is required for travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school and a minimum of three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid State Driver’s License required for vehicle travel, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Directs the community maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff (if applicable), including hiring, training, evaluating performance, resolving disciplinary issues and firing.
• Directs the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds through maintenance staff; inspects completed work for conformance to standards and policies.
• Implements preventative maintenance programs; coordinates compliance with codes and regulations (SDS, OSHA, EPA, fire codes).
• Coordinates engineering contractors and vendors, ensuring insurance and licenses are current.
• Conducts regular life safety inspections (fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems) and coordinates repairs.
• Oversees annual apartment maintenance schedule; manages repairs and refurbishments for move-ins.
• Maintains property exterior including landscaping, snow removal, and waste removal.
• Prepares and monitors approved budget; tracks utilities and expense files.

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant's skills and experience. Full-time associates in role are eligible for an annual bonus incentive and sales referral bonuses. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Education and Experience

• Ensures the outside of the property is maintained, including landscaping, snow removal, and garbage/trash removal.
• Prepares and follows approved budget. Tracks utility consumption and expense files.
• Maintains inventory control for all general supplies, parts and equipment for necessary repairs and maintenance. Maintains all required engineering files.
• Assesses all plumbing and electrical problems within the community and determines the best course of action to correct the problem. Works within the legal scope of local and state codes.
• Reviews safety data sheets (SDS) as requested for potential exposure to hazardous chemicals used and take necessary precautions
• Assess property damage and file property damage claims in accordance with company policy.
• Responds appropriately to resident or community emergencies by assisting as needed.
• Maintains office, shops and mechanical areas within company standards.
