Job summary

ND Paper is seeking a skilled Maintenance Day technician for our Rumford, ME facility. Starting pay is $39.49 per hour with raise potential based on experience and performance.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other rotating equipment, with a focus on safety and reliability in a heavy industrial setting. Prior experience in paper mill or similar industries is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial maintenance in paper/pulp or heavy industry.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining rotating equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Lockout/tagout knowledge and safe work practices.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings and valves.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints and equipment manuals.
• Maintain safety practices and document maintenance actions.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in a paper mill, pulp mill, power plant, or other heavy industrial environment.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other rotating equipment.
• Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Welding, fabrication, machining, or other mechanical trade experience is preferred.
• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices in an industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify the cause of equipment issues and determine appropriate repairs.
