Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Custodian to join our team in Lebanon, NH. You will perform housekeeping across offices, production floors, restrooms, kitchens, and outdoor areas, following a standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime.

On-the-job training is provided as part of joining our UniFirst community. You will operate floor cleaning equipment, restock facilities, and ensure cleanliness throughout the facility while adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment and safe usage of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret procedures and instructions in English.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment to maintain housekeeping of offices, production floor, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
• Keep restrooms, breakrooms, and kitchens stocked and clean.
• Remove trash and dispose in designated areas.
• Maintain window cleanliness and dust furniture as needed.
• Relocate light furniture as directed and replace bulbs when required.
• Perform cleaning on office areas, production floors, outdoor areas, and other property spaces.
• Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will be performing housekeeping and cleaning activities of the facility in office spaces, kitchen areas, common areas, plant / production floor, restroom facilities, and parking lots / grounds areas. At UniFirst we have a standard Monday - Friday work week with periodic night and weekend overtime. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

What you’ll be doing:

• Utilize equipment to perform housekeeping operations, including wet and dry mops, brooms, floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, cleaning supplies, towels, steel wool, carts, and trash cans.
• Ensure restrooms, kitchen, and breakroom areas are cleaned and stocked.
• Remove trash and place it in the designated area.
• Maintain window cleanliness.
• Uphold furniture by dusting and ensure builders hardware is satisfactory.
• Relocate light furniture to assigned areas as directed.
• Replace light bulbs in overhead fixtures when directed.
• Perform cleaning operations in the office areas, production floor, outside of the facility, and other property areas as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

What we’re looking for:

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older
• Must be 18 years of age or older to work in heights and electricity
• High school education and/or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment to ensure safe usage of general cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Must be able to operate floor cleaning equipment and other tools as required.
• Ability to read, comprehend and interpret procedures and instructions in English.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and managers.
• Ability to work overtime as needed is required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
