Job summary

MediLodge of Yale seeks a Maintenance Crew member for part-time duties focused on basic upkeep of building and grounds. You will perform routine maintenance, assist with contractor projects, and ensure safety compliance while supporting residents and staff.

The role requires at least 1 year in building maintenance, a high school diploma or equivalent, and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems. Training is provided as needed, with a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to keep building and equipment in good order.
• Monitor renovations or projects by contractors.
• Maintain and repair HVAC, refrigerators, boilers, washers and dryers under supervision.
• Participate in painting, redecorating, carpentry, concrete and masonry projects.
• Inspect fire control equipment and sprinklers; document findings.
• Maintain weekly logs for hot water, generator checks and fire alarm testing.
• Coordinate monthly fire drills.
• Inspect grounds, mow and trim as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Functions

• Performs routine maintenance and repair required to keep the building and equipment in good working order.
• Monitors building and equipment renovations, remodeling or replacement projects done by contractors.
• Under supervision, maintains and repairs HVAC, refrigerators, boilers, washers and dryers, and other equipment.
• Participates in painting, redecorating, carpentry, concrete and masonry projects.
• Conducts and documents routine inspection of fire control equipment and sprinkler systems.
• Maintains weekly facility log of domestic hot water temperature, generator checklist, monthly fire alarm system testing and sprinkler pressure, for survey and safety compliance.
• Coordinates/documents monthly fire drills.
• Inspects grounds and cuts grass, trims, and takes other appropriate action.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of building codes and rules and regulation regarding the operation of plant equipment.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other safety requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to operate mowing equipment.
