Job summary

UGN Somerset, KY is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to oversee repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance, plant services, utilities, store buildings and janitorial equipment, as well as security needs. The role drives continuous improvement of equipment and facilities to ensure safety and reliability.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience, with strong electrical/mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years related experience and/or training in maintenance.
• Experience as Maintenance Supervisor in a manufacturing plant preferred.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude; troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs is a plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance of buildings, grounds, machinery, and support equipment; plan scheduled repairs.
• Supervise all Maintenance Shift Team Members.
• Supervise and manage storeroom operations.
• Direct plant emergencies (fires, storms, chemical spills, major failures).
• Supervise machinery improvements and predictive maintenance programs.
• Develop and implement training programs and safety initiatives.

The Maintenance Coordinator oversees all repairs, projects, preventive, and predictive maintenance. Is also responsible for plant services, utilities, store building and janitorial equipment, and security needs. Provides for the continuing improvement of equipment and the facility.

This opening will be on from 7pm to 7am on a rotating shift schedule.

What You Will Bring To UGN:

• Coordinate maintenance of buildings, grounds, machinery, and support equipment; plan all scheduled repairs.
• Supervise all Maintenance Shift Team Members.
• Supervise and manage storeroom operations.
• Direct all plant emergencies, including, but not limited to, fires, storm damage, chemical spills, and major mechanical failures.
• Supervise and manage all machinery improvements.
• Develop and implement predictive maintenance.
• Develop and implement training programs.
• Institute Safety and E.I. Programs.
• Ensure the timely, high-quality quality and safe completion of maintenance projects and repairs.
• Maintain time and work order records.
• Assist other departments when necessary.
• Perform activities of workers supervised as necessary.
• Directly supervises Team Members in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Other duties may be assigned.

What You Will Bring To UGN:

• Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prefer candidates with experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in a manufacturing plant.
• Will have strong electrical and mechanical aptitude as well as troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs is a plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills required.
• Must have basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and understand blueprints.
