Job description

Overview

The Maintenance Coordinator supports and coordinates maintenance activities within a high-pressure aluminum die casting manufacturing environment. This role assists with maintenance scheduling, work order management, parts coordination, contractor support, and preventive maintenance tracking to help ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime. The Maintenance Coordinator works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Tooling, and Purchasing to support safe and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities and technician assignments.
  • Manage and track maintenance work orders through the CMMS system.
  • Schedule preventive and predictive maintenance activities for die cast machines, trim presses, furnaces, robots and automation systems, cooling systems, and facility equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance records, downtime logs, and equipment history files.
  • Assist in tracking equipment downtime and identifying recurring issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance parts inventory and support spare parts management.
  • Work with Purchasing to expedite critical replacement parts and outside services.
  • Coordinate contractor scheduling and ensure compliance with plant safety requirements.
  • Support maintenance planning during shutdowns, launches, and major repairs.
  • Generate maintenance performance reports and KPI tracking, including downtime, PM completion rates, equipment uptime, and labor utilization.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Communicate maintenance priorities and status updates with Operations and Production teams.
  • Work with tooling vendors on existing and new programs to source and manage all CNC tooling.
  • Handle tooling procurement, including ordering new tools, replacements, and consumables.
  • Set up and stage tooling for production to ensure machines run jobs efficiently.
  • Maintain backup tooling and spare components to support quick tool changes and minimize downtime.
  • Update and manage tooling books and documentation to align with current prints and engineering revisions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, Business, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of maintenance, manufacturing, or maintenance planning experience preferred.
  • Experience in high-pressure aluminum die casting or heavy manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Basic understanding of industrial maintenance systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and automation equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred experience with die cast equipment, preventive maintenance systems, robotics and automation, spare parts inventory management, and shutdown planning.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, molten aluminum operations, industrial machinery, and forklift traffic.
  • Combination of office and production floor responsibilities.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend support may be required during shutdowns or equipment failures.
