Job summary

Advenco Forests in Colorado is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of various buildings and grounds. Responsibilities include receiving work orders, performing assigned maintenance duties, and hands-on repairs.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in maintenance or construction. Eligible employees will receive health benefits. Pay ranges from $16 to $17 per hour.

Job description

Responsible for assisting the Maintenance team in performing a variety of basic skills involved in the upkeep of buildings and grounds, including lodging, retail stores, restaurants and housing.

Responsibilities

• Receive and complete work orders, in a timely and efficient manner, as required by Maintenance Department policies and procedures. Must assist in the completion, tracking and reporting of work orders.
• Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment as requested.
• Capable of “hands on repairs” in most maintenance disciplines.

Position Requirements

• Demonstrate basic skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair.
• Possess the initiative to learn and willingness to grow in maintenance operations.
• Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs and understand the OSHA safety requirements as applicable.

Education and Experience

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent technical certification/degree preferred.

Experience: 1 year of general maintenance and/or construction.
