Job summary

Magna International (Cosma International) is seeking a maintenance technician to monitor automated production lines and perform setup, robot operation, and parameter adjustments. You will conduct preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

The role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing, with strong mechanical and electrical skills and experience with industrial robots and PLCs.

Qualifications

• Assoc. degree in Mechatronics or Industrial Electronics or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing facility experience in a technical role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background.
• Experience with industrial robots (Kuka, Fanuc, ABB) preferred.
• Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and microcontrollers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned automated production lines, respond to downtime issues, and sustain safe, efficient operations.
• Perform basic equipment operation and setup, including HMI controls, robotics operation, weld parameter adjustments, and product changeovers.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities (TPMs and PMs) to maximize uptime and reliability.
• Repair, rebuild, test, and verify manufacturing equipment and tooling to ensure quality.
• Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, robotic, and automation systems.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement by documenting issues and implementing reliability improvements.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment with 5S and proper spare parts handling.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS

• Monitor assigned automated production lines, quickly respond to downtime issues, and help maintain safe, efficient operations.
• Perform basic equipment operation and setup, including HMI controls, robotics operation, weld parameter adjustments, and product changeovers.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities (TPMs and PMs) to support equipment reliability and maximize production uptime.
• Repair, rebuild, test, and verify manufacturing equipment and tooling to ensure proper performance and quality standards.
• Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, robotic, and automation systems.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts by documenting equipment issues and helping implement reliability improvements.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work environment through strong 5S practices, inventory control, and proper handling of repairable components and spare parts.

Education

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Associate’s degree in Mechatronics or Industrial Electronics required, or equivalent work/educational experience

Work Experience / Technical Training

• 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing facility in a technical capacity
• Strong mechanical and electrical experience
• Experience with industrial robots (Kuka, Fanuc, ABB, etc.) strongly preferred
• Experience with PLC's (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and microcontrollers strongly preferred
