Job summary

Tex Best travel centers are seeking a Maintenance Associate to perform routine maintenance and quickly repair facility issues in their retail convience stores. You will help with cleaning, stocking, and keeping building areas organized while assisting other departments as needed.

The role emphasizes maintenance knowledge, use of hand and power tools, and safe workmanship in a fast-paced environment with daily store operations and occasional driving.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance processes and methods.
• Manual dexterity and working knowledge of test equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete maintenance repair service requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain and repair lighting systems, clean fixtures, and replace bulbs.
• Service test equipment and hand/power tools; manage a small supplies inventory.
• Monitor and coordinate control panels and thermostats to maintain proper temperature.
• Perform periodic quality checks on equipment and systems.
• Clean, inspect, and repair broken machines or defective equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Assist other departments to ensure optimum guest service.
• Keep refrigerators and freezers organized and stocked with fresh products.
• Clean inside and outside of the store and empty trash regularly.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for routinely performing maintenance procedures. They also help troubleshoot and quickly repair any facility problems when they arise. Cleaning and supplying designated building areas as needed (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning).

Duties and Responsibilities

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure that all maintenance repair service requests are scheduled and completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain and repair the following:
• Lighting systems throughout the stores, clean fixtures, and replace bulbs and lamps.
• Maintain and service a variety of test equipment and hand and power tools; keeps small inventory of frequently used supplies and hardware.
• Monitor and coordinate control panels and thermostats of all systems to maintain standard working temperature.
• Perform periodic quality checks on all equipment and systems to ensure they are up to standards.
• Cleaning, inspecting, and repairing broken machines or defective equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Assisting other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
• Keep refrigerators and freezers organized and stocked with fresh products.
• Clean and maintain inside and outside of the store and ensure that trash cans are properly emptied and cleaned.
• Take on additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by store management.
