Job summary

Cortland Hotel Group, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces and grounds in Buffalo, NY. The role includes routine upkeep, preventive tasks, and prompt response to work orders, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The position requires six months of maintenance experience, HS diploma or equivalent, and preferred HVAC/Electrical/Plumbing certifications.

Qualifications

  • Six months of maintenance experience.
  • Hotel maintenance experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HVAC, Electrical and/or Plumbing Certification preferred.
  • Flexible to work day shifts, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Physical: able to lift 50lbs occasionally; lift 25lbs regularly; able to bend and squat; walk/stand for duration of shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis (room care).
  • Complete work orders from guests and hotel associates and record.
  • Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, televisions, lighting; make minor repairs.
  • Make routine repairs on hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen, laundry, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, tools and plumbing systems.
  • Service the pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
  • Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, including painting/finishing.
  • Operate power equipment, hand tools and vehicles for grounds maintenance and landscaping.
  • Maintain grounds equipment and perform minor repairs on equipment/tools.
  • Remove trash daily from sidewalks, grounds, landscaping and parking lots.
  • Provide friendly, prompt service for guests and associates in line with company standards.
  • Follow safety policies and report accidents/injuries/unsafe conditions.
  • Any other work to complete the primary purpose of the position.

Job description

Position Overview: The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician is to provide general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, grounds and public spaces.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g., "room care" ).
  • Complete work orders from guests and hotel associates and record.
  • Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
  • Make routine repairs on all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems such as pipelines, toilets and sinks.
  • Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
  • Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters , including painting and finishing furniture and fixtures if needed.
  • Operate power equipment, hand tools and vehicles associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities in all seasons.
  • Maintain grounds equipment and tools in proper working order. Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required.
  • Remove trash daily from sidewalks, grounds, landscaping and parking lots.
  • Provide friendly, prompt service for hotel guests and associates in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management; and
  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
Qualifications:
