Job summary

The Tupper Lake Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation invites applications for a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our facility safe and comfortable for residents and staff. You will perform routine upkeep, repairs, and preventative tasks across equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure.

With 0–1 year in maintenance, you will work with the Facilities Manager to schedule activities, maintain records, and support safety compliance; a high school diploma or equivalent is required, with trade

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/technical training a plus.
• 0–1 year of maintenance or related experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform bending, stooping, climbing tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance.
• Conduct temperature checks and maintenance on refrigeration units, HVAC systems, and other equipment.
• Respond promptly to resident and staff requests for maintenance-related issues.
• Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to develop and implement maintenance schedules and budgets.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
• Participate in daily rounds to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety protocols and regulations.
