Job summary

The Arc of the Ozarks is seeking a Maintenance I in Missouri to upkeep and improve our residential facilities. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and hands-on repair work to support people with disabilities.

You will perform general repairs, preventive maintenance, grounds care, and light remodeling, with opportunities for growth. The position offers steady hours Monday–Friday and a meaningful, community-focused mission.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling and carpentry.
  • Experience in maintenance roles with similar responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs and preventive maintenance in residential and facility settings.
  • Remodeling tasks, roadways and snow removal, and grounds care as needed.
  • Provide safety training and ensure safety standards across Arc facilities.
  • Assist with vehicle transport for clients or staff when required.

These abilities include but are not limited to repair and maintenance of group homes, ISLs, administrative facilities, and other Arc facilities.General remodeling, maintenance of roadways, parking lots and snow removal are included in these responsibilities.This individual may also be asked to drive a vehicle to transport clients or staff.Essential Job FunctionsDomainDescriptionMission and Core ValuesServes as an ambassador of the mission, purpose, and Core Values of The Arc of the OzarksRepresents The Arc of the Ozarks when communicating with multiple outside vendors, providers, and state agenciesEssential Job TasksThe development of and continued implementation of a preventive maintenance schedule in the group homes, ISLs, administrative facilities, and other Arc facilities.Minor repair to buildings and equipment with general remodeling work.Performs tasks common to the care of grounds and landscapes such as mowing lawns with riding or push mowers; trimming and edging around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks, and buildings; weeding, thinning and cleaning flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment.Ensure that high standards of safety are developed, met, and maintained at all Arc facilities.Arranges and coordinates the internal safety inspections of residential facilities and the Activity Center. Follows up on deficiencies and recommendations.Participates in the process and function of The Arc of the Ozarks Health and Safety Committee.Completes, coordinates, and arranges for the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with Arc of the Ozarks operating procedures, practices, and financial considerations.Ensures that major equipment and furnishings are maintained in safe, operable conditions and/or arranges for replacement.Quality Assurance and ComplianceProvide training as assigned to the residential staff as it relates to the safety and maintenance needs of residential facilitiesRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesA knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling and carpentry. This may be measured by other jobs held and work required in those jobs and or certificates of training in the above mentioned areas.Experience as a maintenance person in a residential/commercial setting is helpful.Must be able to stand, stoop, lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing 75 pounds.A minimum of eighteen years of age and possession of a diploma from an accredited High School or the equivalent.Minimum Experience and Training QualificationsMust have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance person.Maintenance experience in a residential or other type of setting is preferred.Proven ability to complete maintenance projects in the past.
