Job summary

Eastern Health Group is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform maintenance and basic construction tasks around our facilities. You will help maintain grounds, parking areas, and equipment, and assist with painting, plastering, and light repair work as needed. You should be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow written and oral instructions.

A High School Diploma or GED is required. This is an entry-level position with opportunities to grow within a resident-centered

Qualifications

• Entry level position suitable for candidates with 0–2 years of experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and follow both written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and construction work around the facility.
• Maintain grounds, parking areas, and equipment.
• Complete cleaning tasks as needed in all areas; paint and plaster as required.
• Inspect equipment regularly to ensure safe operation and functionality.
• Assist Maintenance Director by reporting repair needs related to structure, equipment, and grounds.

Job Description:

The Maintenance Assistant performs maintenance and construction work around the facility. They maintain the grounds, parking lots and equipment. They perform cleaning tasks as needed in all areas, as well as paint, plaster and inspect equipment to make sure it is properly functioning.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Assistant:

• Work on the cooling, plumbing, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen and communication systems.
• Perform carpentry duties as needed.
• Paint, plaster and refinish items as needed.
• Perform heavy duty cleaning.
• Change screens and storm windows.
• Inspect all equipment and systems regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Advise Maintenance Director of any repair needs concerning structure, equipement and grounds.

Requirements/Qualifications of the Maintenance Assistant:

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to make decisions independently

• Education Entry Level (0-2 years)
