Job summary

Penske Vehicle Services in Troy is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on facility systems and equipment. Tasks include sweeping, mopping, handwashing, replacing filters and belts, and maintaining the paint booth.

The position operates Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 pm to 5:30 am with overtime opportunities. A pre-employment physical is required; basic maintenance knowledge and a valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Some computer experience preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Basic maintenance knowledge required.
• Ability to perform minor repairs.
• Experience in maintenance/janitorial or mechanical work is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping, and handwashing the facility/equipment.

The Maintenance Assistant position is responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of facility systems and equipment.

Essential job functions

• Sweeping, mopping, and handwashing the facility/equipment
• Preventative and Reactive maintenance replacing facility equipment filters, belts, etc.
• Operating a forklift- training and certification will be provided
• Paint Booth maintenance

Skills/requirements:

• Some computer experience preferred
• Must have valid Drivers Licenses
• Basic maintenance knowledge
• Ability to perform minor repairs
• Previous maintenance, janitorial or mechanical experience is helpful but not required
• Lifting Requirements: 5 - 75 lbs.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
• Pre-employment physical will be required
