Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to provide quality maintenance services at our facility in Phoenix, AZ. The role supports preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements while ensuring safety and compliance with Life Care standards.

Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of maintenance experience and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, plus familiarity with local building codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• 1 year maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred.
• Knowledge of local building codes and ordinances preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
• Inspect equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety.
• Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and move heavy items.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in evacuations of patients when needed.
• Maintain regular attendance and demonstrate good judgment.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant provides quality maintenance functions to the facility in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year maintenance experience preferred
• Proven knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred
• Knowledge of local building codes and ordinance preferred

Specific Job Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in current State with satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
