Job summary

Mt. Grant General Hospital in Hawthorne, NV is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform facility upkeep under the direction of the Director of Facilities.

You will help maintain boiler, plumbing, electrical, and sanitation systems to keep the hospital safe and compliant, and you may drive in the Transportation Department for patient care and community needs. Mt. Grant General Hospital is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Assistant. The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for executing work under the direction of the Director of Facilities to ensure maintenance and repairs of facility are maintained appropriately and to assure all equipment and systems function properly and safely. Applicants must have knowledge of building maintenance techniques and equipment operation in a hospital setting including of emergency generator, auto transfer switch, boilers, plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical system, sanitation, water systems and understand codes and regulations. Maintenance assistants are responsible for driving in the Transportation Department as needed for patient care and community needs. The position is required to work call on nights and weekends.

Applicants must be a high school graduate or graduate of a technical school desired for this position or education level sufficient to have gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform basic maintenance functions AND

Two years of general experience in maintenance type work AND

Possess a valid driver’s license AND

Per NRS 449 and NRS 200.5091, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks
