Job summary

FutureCare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment, and to support safety and compliance across our care sites.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 2+ years in building maintenance, English literacy, and a courteous demeanor toward residents and staff. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs is included among duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• At least 2 years of building maintenance experience is highly preferred.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Polite and courteous demeanor toward residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing preventative maintenance for the facility, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment.
• Perform repairs and maintain records/logs; produce required reports.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Adhere to FutureCare’s ethics and compliance plan.
• Maintain a clean, safe maintenance workshop environment.
• Read refrigerator temperatures daily and log results.
• Test and log water temperatures daily.
• Manage supplies and follow the purchase order process within budget.

Under limited direction, the Maintenance Assistance will provide general service and repair work to ensure all facility areas are well maintained and operating within budgetary guidelines for our residents and staff.

Salary Disclosure Statement

The salary mentioned above reflects the potential base pay range for this role. Bonuses or other incentives (if applicable) are offered separately and paid pursuant to the relevant program schedule. All employment offers will consider such factors as overall experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications/training, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing preventative maintenance for the facility, building, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment
• Performs all necessary repairs and maintains accurate records and logs and produces required reports
• Assures compliance with State and Federal Regulatory codes
• Abides by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan
• Maintains clean, safe working environment at all times of the maintenance workshop
• Reads and logs refrigerator temperatures daily
• Tests and logs water temperatures daily
• Observes budgetary guidelines regarding supplies and service and follows proper procedures relating to FutureCare’s purchase order system
• Adheres to facility policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a building maintenance capacity highly preferred
• Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility environment a plus
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language
• Must have a polite and courteous demeanor towards residents and staff members
• Ability to multi-task and work a flexible shift highly desirable
• Ability to meet physical demands with standing, bending, stooping, walking, and lifting at least 50 pounds
