Job summary

Aviata Health Group is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to care for our facilities in a resident-focused environment. You will help maintain grounds, building systems, and equipment across two locations within a 9-mile radius.

You must be willing to travel between sites (Pompano and Fort Lauderdale) with shifts split across the two addresses, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience as a building trade helper or equivalent.
• Qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff.
• Assist with repairs, preventative maintenance, refurbishing, and moving furniture/equipment.
• Maintain facility grounds.
• Ensure facility and equipment are maintained for resident comfort.
• Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills.
• Contribute to innovative ideas to improve systems and processes.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Two years building trade experience

We are searching for a Maintenance Assistant to join our community that is resident and family focused, a team builder, and excited about the opportunity to assist in building a facility culture. The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Must be willing to travel between two locations (9 mile radius)

3 days will be at 2401 NE 2nd Street Pompano, FL.

2 days will be at 1615 Miami Rd. Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Major Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.

• Assist with all repairs, preventative maintenance, refurbishing projects, and furniture/equipment moving.

• Maintain the facility ground.

• Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.

• Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills, as requested.

• Provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Two (2) years’ experience as a building trade helper, apprentice or equivalent preferred.

• You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.
