Job summary

Ridgecrest Health and Rehab in Deland, FL is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to uphold safety standards while maintaining the grounds and equipment. The role contributes to a compassionate environment by promptly addressing residents’ needs.

The facility offers a modern, secure environment with sub-acute care, rehabilitation services, and 24‑hour skilled nursing care. Qualified applicants bring basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical knowledge, and experience with tools.

Qualifications

• H S diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of maintenance experience required.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical wiring.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and cleaning equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in performing technical maintenance tasks as directed.
• Be energetic, professional and reliable in daily duties.
• Follow supervisor instructions and established maintenance procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, and driveways.
• Maintain and repair facility equipment and systems (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical).
• Clean windows and screens; replace burned-out bulbs and exit lights.
• Service heating and cooling units per manufacturer guidelines and policies.
• Complete unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
• Turn in all found articles to supervisor.

Qualifications of Maintenance Assistant

• HS diploma or GED
• 6 months of maintenance experience

Responsibilities of Maintenance Assistant

• Must be proficient in performing technical skills required of a maintenance assistant.
• Must be energetic, professional, and reliable.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Receive and follow maintenance schedule or instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the Facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
• Clean windows and screens, as directed.
• Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties, wherever necessary.
• Service heating and cooling units and systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
• Turn in all found articles to your supervisor.
