Job summary

Extended Care in Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support building operations and renovations. You will repair doors, locks, lighting, and fixtures, inspect control panels and electrical wiring, and perform routine maintenance across the facility.

The role requires ability to read technical manuals and drawings, use hand and power tools, and communicate effectively with the team. On-site work with physical stamina is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Experience using hand and electrical tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, tile, drywall, etc.
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation).
• Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm).
• Collaborate with workers during renovations.
• Report issues to facilities or maintenance manager.
• Keep detailed records of temperature logs, repairs, and general maintenance.

Saturday to Wednesday 9:30am-6pm
