Job summary

The Shepherd Chemical Company in Norwood, OH is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join the maintenance team. You will train across shifts to become a fully trained mechanic, learning to troubleshoot and repair equipment while adding value to operations.

Initial training on first shift with potential placement on other shifts after completion. Wage: $31.53 per hour, full-time benefits including health and life insurance, 401K, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Industrial plant maintenance experience or certification required.
• Ability to read basic electrical, piping, and mechanical drawings.
• Willing to train across multiple shifts and complete proficiency assessments.

Responsibilities

• Learn maintenance across all shifts and become a fully trained mechanic.
• Troubleshoot and solve operational and maintenance problems.
• Read electrical, piping, and instrumentation drawings.
• Work in varied environments: heat, cold, dusty, heights, and restricted spaces.
• Use shop tools and an electrical multi-meter safely.
• Collaborate with peers and communicate issues and resolutions.
