Job Overview

Join our growing Operations team as a Maintenance and Reliability Manager at Chemours Washington Works, WV. In this role you will report directly to the Plant Manager and oversee maintenance execution, planning, stores, contract administration, reliability, mechanical integrity and quality assurance in a high‑hazard operation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a site‑level reliability strategy, plans and actions to improve production capabilities and ensure prioritized, efficient and cost‑effective maintenance activities.
  • Create a 5‑year improvement plan for the maintenance team and programs.
  • Maintain a maintenance metric dashboard to drive improvement and prioritize actions.
  • Design a cost‑management structure for maintenance that identifies opportunities to reduce cost and provides short‑ and long‑term actions.
  • Develop and coach direct reports and other leaders through training, task teams and collaborative problem‑solving.
  • Lead asset‑management plans, preventive/predictive maintenance programs and long‑term maintenance outages to support business objectives.
  • Interface with all contracted work, covering both cost and capital work.
  • Develop a spare equipment and parts strategy to optimize production capability and working capital.
  • Ensure maintenance and reliability work‑management processes are implemented, used and continuously improved.
  • Integrate the CMMS into Management of Change processes and use it as a fully integrated part of reliability and maintenance work management.
  • Plan and execute long‑term outages/turnarounds, partnering with Operations to meet budget, scope and schedule.
  • Represent Washington Works on corporate reliability and maintenance networks to influence best‑practice development and implementation.
  • Support and advance organizational health within the reliability and maintenance team.
  • Be available for day‑based work with occasional nights and weekends to support production.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing, leading maintenance and reliability programs and managing direct reports, or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM), safe design‑change management, PHAs and Mechanical Integrity programs.
  • Strong technical, analytical, team‑building and organizational change‑leadership skills.
  • Ability to define current states, identify opportunities, develop strategies and plan for future improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal and influence‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project leadership or management and continuous improvement (Six Sigma or Lean).
  • Professional reliability certification (e.g., CRE, CRP, CRL, CMRP, RE Certificate).
  • Proficient with SAP‑PM, SAP‑MM and maintenance work‑management systems.
  • High‑hazard process manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with national standards such as API 510, 570 and 653.
