The role involves coordinating with supervision, performing repairs, and planning maintenance activities to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in production, operations or maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Commitment to safety policies and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain machinery, equipment, facilities or vehicles independently and efficiently.
  • Provide work direction and training to less experienced team members.
  • Repair and perform preventative maintenance for efficient operation.
  • Identify and diagnose equipment problems and monitor performance.
  • Uphold a strong safety culture and enforce policies and regulations.
  • Inspect parts, alignment, installation and refurbishment of equipment.
  • Coordinate with supervisor on tasks and scheduling of work orders.
  • Install, maintain, rebuild, replace parts and troubleshoot maintenance issues.
  • Perform maintenance planning and scheduling activities for equipment.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Summary

CHS Brandon is hiring an expert Maintenance and Millwright Technician to service the entire Brandon business unit. This position will oversee repairs at 10 grain facilities, with opportunities to assist at agronomy facilities. The ideal candidate would live in the Pipestone, MN or Brandon, SD areas.

Responsibilities
  • Working independently, maintain machinery, equipment, facilities or vehicles as needed and as efficiently and timely as possible.

  • Provide work direction and training to less experienced team members.

  • Repair and perform preventative maintenance to ensure the most efficient operation.

  • Identify and diagnosis problems on equipment and continually monitor equipment while initiating appropriate repair processes.

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

  • Inspect parts, replacements, alignment, balancing, installation and refurbishment on a wide variety of equipment.

  • Coordinate with the supervisor on tasks ranging from simple part replacement, advanced troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance interventions ensuring that equipment is properly configured and/or set up.

  • Install, maintain, rebuild, replace parts, equipment and machinery and troubleshoot maintenance problems.

  • Perform maintenance planning and scheduling activities to assign equipment work orders.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or directed.

Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • 3+ years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or Maintenance
Additional Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred

  • Experience troubleshooting isses, identifying and completing appropriate repairs, and implementing measures to prevent reoccurring maintenance problems

  • Working knowledge of the operations, control, and functions of equipment and machinery

  • Ability to be on-call 24/7, during spring plant, harvest, and train emergencies

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed

  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.
