Job Summary
Supports the production environment with simple repairs, building maintenance, and commonly occurring maintenance issues that require minimal training at the Vidalia, GA location.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a proactive working environment through ongoing communication with Production associates.
- Supports the production environment with simple repairs, building maintenance, and commonly occurring maintenance issues that require minimal training.
- Performs preventative maintenance and other maintenance issues that require basic skills and problem solving.
- Can replace HVAC filters and perform minor HVAC work.
- Order replacement parts and replace simple building components.
- Simple carpentry work that supports building repairs.
- Supports Trane Vidalia’s goals of Safety, Quality, and Teamwork to achieve overall success of Trane.
- Must be flexible to meet the needs of the company. This includes daily, off-shift work, weekends, shutdowns, and holidays. Must also have flexibility to adjust work hours on short notice and willingness to be on-call if the need arises.
- Communicate issues to and from Production Teams and the OFT Process Team.
- Provides and is responsible for his or her own hand tools.
- Ongoing training/development as needed and/or required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-4 years’ experience in the maintenance field.
- Strong Leadership and communication (written, oral interpersonal) skills.
- Team Player: must be able to foster a team environment and support team goals
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment with little or no supervision.
- Ability to work with various hand tools such as drills, saws, hammers, etc.
- Ability to maintain pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, required.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and precision instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers)
- Ability to run low voltage circuits in accordance with national electrical codes
- Ability to troubleshoot low voltage control circuits
Physical Requirements
- Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shift
- Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally. Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assist
- Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per day
- Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shift
- Stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per dayClimb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day
- Use of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions
- Moderate physical exertion
