Job summary

Waikiki Beachside Hostel is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to keep our property safe, clean, functional, and comfortable for guests and staff. This on-site role handles general repairs, preventative maintenance, and quick responses to requests to maintain high standards.

You will troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, HVAC, doors, fixtures, and furniture; perform painting and basic upkeep; coordinate with management for outside vendors; and ensure a safe environment in a busy

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or hotel/building maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC/AC, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout guest rooms, common areas, and staff areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC/AC, fixtures, doors, locks, furniture, and other property equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent issues.
• Inspect rooms and common areas for maintenance concerns.
• Complete basic painting, patching, caulking, and other property upkeep.
• Assist with AC troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Help maintain lighting, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and building equipment.
• Coordinate with management when outside vendors or specialized repairs are needed.
• Keep maintenance tools, supplies, and work areas organized.
• Document completed work and communicate outstanding issues to management.

Maintenance Technician – Waikiki Beachside Hostel

Waikiki Beachside Hostel is looking for a dependable and hands‑on Maintenance Technician to help keep our property safe, clean, functional, and comfortable for our guests and staff.

This position is responsible for completing general maintenance and repairs throughout the hostel, responding to maintenance requests, performing routine inspections, and helping identify and resolve property issues before they become larger problems.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout guest rooms, common areas, and staff areas


• Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC/AC, fixtures, doors, locks, furniture, and other property equipment


• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent issues


• Inspect rooms and common areas for maintenance concerns


• Complete basic painting, patching, caulking, and other property upkeep


• Assist with AC troubleshooting and maintenance

Qualifications:

• Previous maintenance, handyman, hotel, apartment, or building maintenance experience preferred


• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC/AC, carpentry, and general repairs


• Comfortable using common hand and power tools


• Able to troubleshoot problems and work independently


• Reliable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple maintenance requests


• Good communication and teamwork skills


• Able to perform physical work, including standing, bending, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting maintenance equipment and supplies


• Must be available to work on-site in Waikiki
