Job summary

Sky Mavis is seeking Maintenance Team Members to provide janitorial services and maintain the cleanliness of our warehouses in Alaska. Candidates should have experience with cleaning tools and be able to follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities include operating machinery, restocking supplies, and assisting in repairs. Full-time and part-time options are available, with a starting pay of $16.00/hr, and various benefits including health insurance.

Qualifications

Job description

Role Description

Maintenance Team Members provide janitorial services and general maintenance of warehouse and grounds.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Cleans warehouse floors, offices, break room, and restrooms by operating self-propelled floor scrubbing machinery, and by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping.
• Follows departmental procedures and standards for cleanliness and performance of duties.
• Restocks supplies.
• Empties trash from designated areas throughout the warehouse.

Pulls merchandise slip sheets and loose cardboard from sales floor.

• Operates garbage compactor and cardboard baler.
• Checks daily schedule for assigned routine tasks and maintenance repair jobs.
• Follows safety and security procedures, such as tagging and locking off power access when working on electrical equipment, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler, product disposal.
• Responds quickly to clean up spills.
• Paints, replaces bulbs, maintains equipment, and performs routine repairs throughout store.
• Assists in building displays and fixtures.
• Maintains grounds outside warehouse including blowing leaves, picking up litter, roof checks, and building maintenance.
• Participates in snow and ice removal.
• Drives personal vehicle to purchase supplies and parts needed for projects.Provides prompt and courteous member service.
• Assists with front end duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the store as necessary.
• Operate flatbeds, carts, hand tools, pressure washer, floor scrubber, leaf blower, private vehicle, power tools, cardboard baler, trash compactor, machinery throughout store.
• Occasionally operate cash register, handheld scanners, computer, fax machine, phone, printer.
• Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.

Experience/Education

• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Janitorial experience preferred.

Working Environment

Work is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, frequently lift/carry up to 10 pounds below waist, up to 50 pounds at waist/chest and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
