Job summary

International Paper in Gilroy, CA is seeking a maintenance technician to perform safe repairs and preventive maintenance on plant equipment. You will coordinate with supervision to ensure equipment is returned to operation in good condition and complete all required paperwork through the work order system.

The role requires willingness to work all three shifts, with overtime, call-ins, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience in a manufacturing facility.
• On-the-job safety, attendance and quality of work expectations.
• Maintenance experience in corrugated facilities is a plus; strong knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with production supervision to effect safe repairs to equipment and ensure that equipment is returned to operations in an acceptable condition.
• Performs regularly scheduled preventive maintenance and monthly safety checks.
• Make repairs & modifications to equipment and facilities as scheduled through the work order system.
• Responsible for completing all paperwork assigned and coordinating with the Reliability Supervisor to ensure data is correct and recorded.
• Other duties as assigned

Hourly Full-Time – Must be flexible to work all three shifts, work 12 hours as need, and Saturdays as needed.

• 1st Shift – 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
• 2nd Shift – 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• 3rd Shift – 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM

The Job You Will Perform

• Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
• Willing and able to work second and third shifts, call-ins, holidays, and overtime as there is a constant demand for overtime in our maintenance department.
• Able to work with computer systems for maintenance processes, stores and work orders.
